Per staff user, per month, or $20 when billed annually. Unlimited clients, unlimited portal users, unlimited storage. Your clients never cost you anything, because the whole point is getting every client on the portal.
BrightReturn for firms
$25per staff user / month $20 billed annually
The whole product for every firm. No tiers and nothing metered.
Published prices for the tools accounting firms most often compare, as of August 2026. Suites bill annually, upfront; several meter the exact features a portal exists for.
The short version: no card to try it, no contract to keep it, and your documents export as a zip whenever you want them.Price is a trust signal, and so is how it's structured.
Is there really only one plan?
Yes. Every firm gets the whole product: document requests, named read receipts, white-label branding, folder templates, the review queue, and unlimited clients, portal users, and storage. There is no tier ladder and nothing to unlock later.
What counts as a paid user?
Only your firm's staff: the people who sign in to the firm side. Your clients and their portal accounts are free and unlimited, and so is storage. We never charge for the behavior we want more of: every client on the portal.
Do I need a card to start the trial?
No. The 14-day trial starts with an email address. Bring your clients in and send real document requests before you decide anything.
Is there an annual contract?
Only if you want one. Monthly is $25 per staff user and you can cancel anytime. Annual billing drops it to $20 per staff user per month. Nothing is billed upfront for a year the way suite platforms do it.
Is white-label branding an add-on?
No. Your logo, colors, and welcome text are included at $25, and your clients see your firm's brand from the invitation email to the sign-in screen. White label is never an upsell tier.
Can we switch during tax season?
Switching is the wrong word, because there is nothing to migrate before you start. Import your client list, send this season's requests, and let documents land in BrightReturn from today forward. Historical files can move later, or never.
What about e-signatures for Form 8879?
BrightReturn doesn't include e-signature today; it is planned as an integration. Most firms keep their existing e-sign tool and use BrightReturn for the collection half of the exchange, which is where the season is actually won.
What happens to our documents if we leave?
They're yours. Export everything as a zip at any time, cancel from the billing page, and your subscription simply stops at the end of the period.
Try the math on your own firm.
A five-person firm pays $125 a month, around a third of what a suite bills for the same seats, with no annual invoice up front.
